It’s the final day of October and also of Dreamscape’s Love Is The Law Month. I hope you’ve enjoyed all the LITL related posts over the last 31 days. Just uploaded to the Smash Hits Archive, the latest issue (October 27 – November 9 1983) of the late 70s/early 80s must-have magazine, exactly 30 years to the day it was originally published. This includes a full page advert for the Love Is The Law album and a 7 out of 10 review for the album too.
TOYAH: Love Is The Law (Safari) This has imaginatively powerful tracks such as “Broken Diamonds” and “Dreamscape” which conjure up vivid futuristic images of things such as “scrapyards of human emotion” and general planetary desolation. Even so, Toyah has developed a softer side to her music. “The Vow” is a haunting romantic melody and one of the high points of the album. Don’t know whether it will gain her any new admirers but her fans will love it (7 out of 10) Lisa Anthony

A five star review, of Toyah’s gig at Concorde 2 last night, by Brighton & Hove’s The Latest.
What a night everyone had! Toyah Willcox is back with a vengeance in her new tour full of new and classic hits. She not only refined her singing voice so it had a beautiful rock-opera style to it, but also kept the staging and props simple, yet with scope to be dramatic.

Greatest hits, fan favourites and cult classics will feature when former punk princess Toyah headlines Bilston’s Robin 2 on Friday October 25.
Fans can look forward to classics like Thunder In The Mountains, I Want To Be Free and It’s A Mystery when the Brummie star takes to the stage for her Love Is The Law show, which will feature songs from her last studio album, before she embarked on a solo career.
Willcox was bullied at school because she had a speech impediment and was short – however, that spurred her on to become a star.
Toyah said: “Yipeee, it’s show time.Interestingly I already know the songs inside out. Whereas The Changeling took months to learn, Love Is The Law is still firmly in my head from 1983, which was one of the happiest and most fulfilling years of my life.”
