.Sunderland Now: Panto Stars Promise A Truly Wicked Christmas In Sunderland!

Sunderland Empire and UK Productions are delighted to announce a truly wicked cast for this year’s Christmas pantomime – Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs!

Panto legend and star of stage and screen Su Pollard will take on the dastardly role of the Wicked Queen, alongside children’s TV favourite Andrew Agnew (PC Plum – Balamory) as the side-splitting Muddles the Jester, at the Sunderland Empire from Friday 12 December 2014 – Sunday 4 January 2015.

Su Pollard will lead the cast for the Sunderland Empire's panto as the Wicked Queen in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

Pantomime audiences in Sunderland will doubtless be saying Hi-De-Hi later this year when
Su Pollard leads the cast of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Having established herself as a bit of a panto legend since winning the nation’s hearts as chalet maid Peggy in the BBC holiday camp sitcom, Su has also notched up countless roles in musical theatre and drama too.

She will next be seen in a national tour of Ha Ha Hood and the Prince of Leaves, but will come to the Sunderland Empire as the Wicked Queen who can’t bear to hear that Snow White is fairer than she is.

Recorded for the 40th anniversary of Abbey Road, the Beatles' final album, a journey through the classic and curious covers in the BBC archives. Featuring Sandie Shaw singing a sassy Day Tripper, Shirley Bassey belting out Something, a close-harmony Carpenters cover of Help!, Joe Cocker's chart-topping With A Little Help From My Friends, Oasis reinventing the Walrus and a little Lady Madonna from Macca himself. Plus, a few 'magical' moments from Candy Flip, the Korean Kittens and Su Pollard. (Also airing on BBC4 HD)

Those Little Robots are getting up to mischief again each morning from next Monday. Episodes will be airing at 8.30am on CBeebies and CBeebies HD. Su, of course, is Noisy in the series.

.Ha Ha Hood! And The Prince Of Leaves

Su will play Maid Marian throughout the UK later this year in Ha Ha Hood! And The Prince Of Leaves, a production playing numerous theatres from September to November.

Starring Su Pollard and Ben Langley

After the hugely successful UK tour of Ha Ha Holmes! in 2013, Ha Ha! returns by popular demand with the next instalment in the series. Ha Ha Hood! stars comedy queen Su Pollard (Hi-de-Hi!, You Rang, M’Lord?) as Maiden Marian and sees the return of Ben Langley in the role of Robin Hood, the world’s favourite outlaw. Further casting is to be announced.

Irreverent and funny, this brand new romp co will take you on an hilarious adventure through the heroic and daring world of Sherwood Forest, led by Hood and his merry men (in tights!).

Original, clever and laugh out loud funny, Ha Ha Hood! is not to be missed.

Su has very recently recorded another appearance on the hit BBC1 quiz series Pointless Celebrities.

She previously guested with Jeffrey Holland and the latest appearance saw her paired with, another Hi-de-Hi! legend, Ruth Madoc. Both had a great time recording the show.

This will air on BBC later in the year. Air dates/times will be posted here when they are known.
