.Leftlion.co.uk: Su Pollard Interview
Thursday 26th September, 2013
The great Su interview that was included in the 10th Anniversary issue of 'Leftlion' magazine is now also available as a standalone feature at the publication's website.

For the last decade she’s been our unofficial mascot. Su Pollard, or ‘Mother Nottingham’ as we like to call her, made her name in TV series like Hi-de-Hi! and You Rang M’Lord? She even got to number two in the UK singles charts in 1986 - a time when that actually meant something. She’s coming home this December as Theatre Royal have confirmed her for this year’s panto. We finally hooked her up with Nottingham’s Mr Sex...

Su Pollard and David Hasselhoff: the dream ticket of panto...
Aw, it really is. It’s really nice for me to be coming back to Nottingham, obviously, and the Hoff – well, he’s got the looks, the stature, the accent – did you hear him on the video saying he couldn’t wait to play the “Theader Royale”?

He called you ‘Super Lard’, an’all.
Yes he did! I quite like that.

Maybe you ought to leave a block of Trex with a little Superman cape in his dressing room as a welcoming present.
Hey, that’s a good idea, in’t it? I’ll sort that.

.Congratulations To Danny: World Record Breaker!
Sunday 15th September, 2013
There have been various news reports on one of Su's former Annie co-stars this week. Danny the Dog is now officially in the Guinness World Records. Here are a couple:

The Stage: Danny the dog bounds into theatrical record books: A talented terrier who appeared in the musical Annie for a decade has officially been entered into the record books. Danny, a soft-coated wheaten terrier, has earned a place in the Guinness World Records for “most stage appearances by a dog for the same role”, after he played Sandy in the musical for 1,365 performances.

According to Mansell, Danny has been rewarded for his record with “lovely meals”, including organic food. “He eats better than I do,” she joked, adding that Danny loves all the attention that comes with being a performing dog. She revealed he had appeared in Annie alongside Su Pollard, who verified his achievement to Guinness and who “tickled him under his chin” every night -

.Nottingham Post: Su Pollard: My School Days
Wednesday 11th September, 2013
Su recalls her school years in a new article at the Nottingham Post.

When I started school in 1955 I went to Berridge Road School in Hyson Green, and it was fantastic. It taught me how to make friends, and it started off my love of music and plays.

I took my 11-plus and I failed it dismally. I was well aware of how important it was. When I failed I was supposed to go to Bentinck School, but I persuaded my mum and dad to let me go to Peveril School, in Robin's Wood Road, instead. I don't think they needed much persuading.
