 JULY 2012 NEWS:
.Overseas Singapore: Annie Amount of Sunshine and Optimism
Monday 16th July, 2012 Press Clips
A great new feature on Annie in Singapore by Overseas Singapore.

The adult cast deserves much applause for their performance, with their quick-footed steps, beautiful vocals and memorable harmonies in songs such as “We’d Like to Thank You”, “Fully Dressed” and “Easy Street”. The actors seem to relish their roles, as they play their part to much aplomb. I was in stitches over the man-eating, children-hating Ms Hannigan, played to delicious hilarity by British actor Su Pollard.

When xinmsn asked Su Pollard if her character Miss Hannigan is as evil as she appears, she set the record straight and said, "She's much maligned, she's misunderstood. She's been made to be a mean person mentally because these children have been awful to her for years... I'd like to try and make her a bit more vulnerable."

.InSing.com: Musical Review: ‘Annie’ - Don’t Wait Till Tomorrow
Monday 16th July, 2012 Press Clips
From 10 July to 5 August, the cast of Broadway musical ‘Annie’ will be singing and dancing their hearts out on stage at Marina Bay Sands’ theatre. That’s a four-week run, which for a show that ran on Broadway for six years, is a drop in the box office ocean. One therefore hasn’t got much time to schedule in a show, but if one does, one will be glad to have made the effort.

Seasoned actress Pollard is highly entertaining as Miss Hannigan, hamming it up to a T. At once pathetic, humourous, mean, bawdry and always drunk, Pollard’s Hannigan was the perfect comedic villain and had the audience laughing at her antics all the way.

McAlister was a polished Daddy Warbucks, striking the right balance between being a hard, high-powered businessman who is more accustomed relating to staff than to children and being a softy at heart.

.I-S: Interview: Su Pollard for Annie
Wednesday 4th July, 2012 Interview
Another new interview with Su, this one from I-S, the Asian entertainment magazine/website.

The veteran British actress, who plays an alcoholic orphanage matron Miss Hannigan in the musical Annie, talks to Chin Hui Wen about men’s clubs, her misunderstood stage character and a regime involving lots of fluids.

How did you get your start?
At 16, I began singing in charity shows and at working men's pubs. I was the first woman to sing “Ave Maria” in hot pants at a men's club.

What drew you to this role?
I’ve always loved the story and songs of Annie. Plus, I enjoy every moment of Miss Hannigan as a character. She’s misunderstood. She has taken to the drink because she's lonely and has only orphans for company.
