Including; the Cork Opera House (where Su is NOT appearing), Brighton Theatre Royal, Grimsby Auditorium, Southend Cliffs Pavilion, and Dartford's Orchard Theatre.

The tour commences on, week beginning, 8th September and runs until the week of 24th November, though as mentioned Su leaves the show the week previously.

Starring Su Pollard, Mark Wynter, Louise English with Lucy Barker and Faye Spittlehouse as Annie.

Annie is a heart-warming rags to riches story of an 11 year-old orphan who longs for her parents to rescue her from a New York orphanage and its mean tempered matron, Miss Hannigan. Annie is offered the chance of a lifetime when billionaire businessman (with a heart of gold) Oliver Warbucks decides to adopt her, but not before Miss Hannigan and her brother roster scheme to kidnap Annie and claim the reward money.

Set against a Manhattan skyine in the era of the Great Depression. Annie The Musical follows the story of the 11 year old orphan without a friend in the world, except her faithful dog, Sandy. Annie's only hope is to escape the orphanage where the tyrannical Miss Hanningan makes life a misery and with the arrival of Daddy Warbucks her dreams finally can come true.

Packed with show stopping songs, this classic musical features Tomorrow, You're Never Fully Dresses Without a Smile, It's a Hard Knock Life and more. This is a heartwarming, feel good show for all the family to enjoy.

July 6, 2003: 'The Vagina Monologues' Su's stint ends / Two show reviews
Vag Mon - Gone!Su's short stint in The Vagina Monologues has now come to an end.

However, as Su prepares for pastures new, here are two reviews of the recent Wycombe Swan performances

IC Berkshire: Women reclaiming 'down there'!
The Vagina Monologues is one of those shows that everyone has heard of but few know what to expect when they arrive at the theatre. I was one of those - I had no idea what I was about to see, writes Sarah Larch.

What I did see will make you laugh, cringe and cry all within one hour and 45 minutes.

Eve Ensler's now famous vagina interviews with women around the world was brought to life for us by Su Pollard, Jenny Jules and Tamara Beckwith.

They perched, all dressed in black and bare-footed, on stools and spoke humourously and seriously about the one thing women rarely talk about - 'down there'.

If you are easily offended then the second half of this show, however, is not for you.

Although Su Pollard's aura alone had you giggling, one of her monologues was about reclaiming a certain word that nobody likes at all. By the end of her story the auditorium was echoing with swearing women, and a few to my right walked out at that point.

It is also relevant to point out that the audience could well determine whether you enjoy this show. There were some women who seemed to think they had to laugh at every word - this is not the case believe me! And it got rather annoying.

The monologues vary considerably. If your vagina got dressed, what would it wear? Glasses!

Another highlight was Jenny Jules. Her impressions were superb - she put on a great African woman's accent when performing the monologue of a girl who thought her vagina was evil after being raped by her father's friend aged ten. But she regained the pleasure of it at 16 thanks to a 'beautiful 24-year-old woman'.

She also performed a 'When Harry met Sally-esque' scene of varying moans, including the silent British moan, and culminating in an eruption on stage. There is the story of a 72-year-old and her 'floods' and the one about the vagina classes. But these are interspersed with the sad and sickening stories of rape in Africa and the very descriptive story of the birth of Eve Ensler's grandchild.

It is these sadder stories that saw the introduction of V-Day. V-Day's message is simple - it demands that violence must end and proclaims Valentine's Day as V-Day until the violence stops.

Performances of the Vagina Monologues raise funds for local charities working to end violence against women and children.

Review: Vagina Monologues, Wycombe Swan
This worldwide phenomenon was written by Eve Ensler from a series of interviews with women of all ages, on their thoughts about an important and complex part of their anatomy.

Su Pollard, Tamara Beckwith and Jenny Jules recounted their words and had the whole audience in stitches with laughter, or near to tears, over subjects ranging from the ludicrousness of some feminine hygiene products and underwear to harrowing accounts of rape in Bosnia, female mutilation by circumcision and, finally, to the miracle of giving birth.

It's incredible that, in this day and age, a show like this can possibly be seen as subversive. In a town in America it was banned from advertising but women were having none of that nonsense and took to the streets to hand out leaflets in the parking lots of supermarkets. It was a wonderfully witty and liberating show and, some would say, about time too! A celebration of being a woman - although there were one or two brave men there. In keeping with the aims of the show, a donation from the proceeds went to a local women's charity.

July 6, 2003: 'The Scotsman' Short Su article
Coming To A Stage Near You

It’s not all tutus on the Festival stage. October sees the return to the Capital of Hi-De-Hi! favourite Su Pollard who is due to star in Annie (October 7-11), the heart-warming musical about an 11-year-old orphan girl adopted by billionaire businessman, Daddy Warbucks.

Pollard has been cast as the evil- tempered, child-hating, bourbon- swilling matron of the orphanage, Miss Hannigan. In real life, however, she couldn’t be more complimentary about her young charges, and says: "The children are superb and the music is so great. I’ve always wanted to be in Annie because I just love the music so much. We’ve got a brilliant cast and, frankly, I’m having a ball. It’s fantastic."
