When Ted Bovis arranges a secret meeting with an attractive young girl camper their romantic intentions are cut short by the arrival of security. In an attempt to avoid capture they unwittingly set suspicions on Jeffrey Fairbrother.

Fred Quilly thinks that the racing mobster Big Mac from Brighton has tracked him down to Maplin’s Holiday Camp,  the staff are on their toes to prevent Big Mac from taking his revenge.

Yvonne and Barry, the ballroom dancers, invite the staff to a party. However they only invite staff they feel are “socially acceptable”, but when Peggy mixes up the invitations they get more than they bargained for!

02. Carnival Time

Joe Maplin insists that the staff take part in the Town Carnival by putting in a float. Spike has the job of producing the tableau.

The local council decides to build a hospital next to Maplin’s Holiday Camp. Joe Maplin instructs the staff to thwart their plan by making as much noise as possible.

04. The Pay-Off

The local council are still determined to build the hospital next to Maplin’s. Joe sends a shoebox full of money to Jeffrey with instructions that he is to bribe the four councillors.

05. Trouble and Strife

Ted Bovis’s ex-wife turns up at the camp demanding the arrears of her maintenance. She has in tow a bailiff who presents Ted with a writ. Failure to pay could result in prison for Ted. He is forced to resort to all the fiddles he can remember in order to raise the money.

Jeffrey Fairbrother’s wife sends her new boyfriend to ask Jeffrey for a divorce.  Since the professor is unwilling to co-operate he starts to dig for evidence.

Joe Maplin installs a model volcano in the ballroom which erupts during Ted’s act. Ted is not prepared to tolerate such interuptions so in the dead of night he leads an expedition to sabotage it.

When a local cottage is faced with  with destruction and it’s owner threatened with eviction to make way for an extension to the camp Jeffrey is insensed and rallies the staff into thwarting Joe Maplin’s plans.

06. Raffles

Clive is badly in debt and when some thugs arrive threatening violence if the money is not repaid Clive begins to look at ways of getting money quickly.

When Ted learns that a stolen necklace worth £10,000 might be hidden in the camp he arranges a midnight operation to find it which involves doping the campers and ransacking the chalets.

Then Ted and Spike spot a smelly tramp entertaining kids on the beach, they think they’ve found the answer to their problems.

Yvonne’s partner Barry has left her and she becomes a recluse in her chalet. Worried about the entertainments programme Gladys takes the initiative and sends for her substitute partner Julian Dalrymple-Sykes. Within hours Yvonne is ready to take the floor again.

In a moment of rash thinking Ted challenges the cocky sergrant of the army display team to a race over an assault course - Maplin’s versus the Army.  The local bookie is doing great business on the outcome so Ted decides to even up the odds with a few fiddles.

Ted pushes Alec Foster too far when he asks for a rise in wages and he is sacked, in his place is a new comic who has won Opportunity Knocks.
