The Vintage TV Sessions: Watch Online

Thursday’s The Vintage TV Sessions is now available to watch online at the Vintage TV website. Five great bands guested on the show and Toyah performed acoustic versions of ‘Thunder In The Mountains’ and ‘I Want To Be Free’, accompanied by Chris Wong and Colin Hinds. There’s also a short interview with Toyah by host Tom Robinson. The programme is repeated on Sunday night at 10pm. Click below to watch.

Toyah on TV: Pointless Celebrities

pointless14aToyah recorded a new edition of, the hit BBC1 quiz series, Pointless Celebrities earlier this week. A “music special”, it will air later in the year.

Toyah previously guested on the programme in 2012, partnered with Cheryl Baker.

A short promo for this week’s The Vintage TV Sessions is now available to watch at You Tube. This ad has also been airing on the music channel over the last couple of weeks. Toyah will perform two acoustic songs on this month’s show which airs tomorrow at 8pm.

The lovable livewire has moved from punk princess to high priestess of TV, treading the boards as an actress, composing music and being an award-winning rock legend along the way.

Toyah will be performing a full set with her band, featuring songs from In the Court of the Crimson Queen along with classic hits and fan favourites.

Live 2014: Songs From The Intergalactic Ranch House

irhtour14aToyah is celebrating her iconic past (and present!) later this year via the, recently announced, UK tour Songs From The Intergalactic Ranch House… & Beyond!, with eight dates in October and November.

The IRH, as many call it, was, of course, Toyah’s official fan club for the first four years of her music career (later becoming simply the Toyah Fan Club and then Tellurian). Tickets are already on sale, and the full tour dates are:

Dreamscape: Site Revamp/Update

dfim13bNow that Dreamscape has nestled into its 15th year online I thought it was time to give the site a bit of a makeover.

Over the last couple of months, inbetween work, life, sleep, fanzines and other websites, I’ve been revamping each section and I finally managed to finish and uploaded the changes this weekend – I’m pleased with the finished result and think the alterations give Dreamscape a bright, fresher (and fun) look.

I’ve also added content and brought up to date a few of the sections that had been slightly neglected over the last couple of years. I sometimes forget how vast the archives of this site are…

crick14cPop icon Toyah Willcox headlining this year’s Crick Boat Show and Waterways Festival in Northamptonshire

Pop icon, TV presenter and actress Toyah Willcox is headlining this year’s Crick Boat Show & Waterways Festival.

The annual event, which showcases the inland waterways industry with over 250 exhibitors from across the canal world, takes place at Crick Marina, near Daventry in Northamptonshire, from 24 to 26 May 2014.

Toyah will be performing her ‘Acoustic, Up Close & Personal’ set at Crick as part of the show’s Saturday evening entertainment programme.

Northampton Chronicle: Toyah To Headline Crick Boat Show

crick14b80s singer Toyah Willcox to headline Crick Boat Show

Pop singer and TV presenter Toyah Willcox will headline this year’s Crick Boat Show & Waterways Festival.

The annual event, which showcases the inland waterways industry with over 250 exhibitors from across the canal world, takes place at Crick Marina, near Daventry in Northamptonshire, on the weekend of May 24 to 26.

The show is expected to attract 25,000 visitors and Toyah will be performing her ‘Acoustic, Up Close & Personal’ set during the Saturday evening entertainment programme.

Her gig will include renditions of her most well-known singles, such as It’s A Mystery, Thunder in the Mountains and I Want to Be Free and she will tell stories from her colourful 35-year career.

humans14oStrange Charts: The Humans’ third album, Strange Tales, placed well in various charts upon its release almost a fortnight ago. It charted in the Top 30 of Amazon’s Rock Chart and also entered iTunes Rock chart at No. 65 on just one day of sales.

Strange Photos: The digital booklet includes exclusive photos (from the recording sessions for the album), lyrics to all seven songs and production credits.

Vintage TV: Live And In The Spotlight

vintage14gThis is fast becoming our favourite diary date – the chance to see five incredible acts do their stuff live from the atmospheric and intimate Bedford pub in Balham. And this month veteran singer songwriter, broadcaster, campaigner and all-round good guy Tom Robinson is hosting.

Taking to the stage at the 4th Vintage TV Sessions (20th March, 8pm) are: punk princess Toyah Willcox and her band: indie rockers The Struts, 80s idol Nik Kershaw, the gorgeous Judie Tzuke of ‘Stay with me ‘til Dawn’ fame; and acclaimed singer songwriter Josephine. Let’s keep it live!

Classic Toyah: 1981 – The Year Of Toyah!

We haven’t had a Classic Toyah post for a while – Rectifying this with a very rare magazine advert from July 1981, from Finnish magazine ‘Soundi’. They also published an issue with Toyah’s Brave New World image on their cover in 1982, and another full-page advert for The Changeling. Click below to see the full size advert.
